Method

1. Rinse the Sushi Rice

1

Step 1

Place the rice in a large bowl and cover it with cold water. Gently wash the rice, changing the water several times, until the water is mostly clear.

2. Cook the Rice

2

Step 2

Add the rinsed rice and 240 ml water to a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, cover and reduce the heat to low. Cook for approximately 12–15 minutes, or until the water has been absorbed.

3. Rest the Rice

3

Step 3

Remove the saucepan from the heat and leave it covered for 10 minutes. This allows the remaining steam to distribute evenly through the rice.

4. Make the Sushi Seasoning

4

Step 4

Combine the rice vinegar, sugar and salt in a small bowl. Stir until the sugar and salt have dissolved, warming the mixture briefly when necessary.

5. Season and Cool the Rice

5

Step 5

Transfer the cooked rice to a wide bowl. Drizzle the vinegar mixture over it and fold gently with a spatula without crushing the grains. Leave the rice to cool to room temperature.

6. Create the Rice Layer

6

Step 6

Transfer the cooled sushi rice to a medium rectangular glass dish. Press it gently with the back of a spoon to create an even layer.

7. Prepare the Avocado

7

Step 7

Cut the avocado in half, remove the stone and slice the flesh thinly. Drizzle with lemon or lime juice to help prevent browning.

8. Add the Avocado Layer

8

Step 8

Arrange the avocado slices over the rice, covering as much of the surface as possible.

9. Spread the Cream Cheese

9

Step 9

Spoon the cream cheese over the avocado. Gently spread it into a smooth and even layer using the back of a spoon.

10. Dice the Salmon

10

Step 10

Cut the cold sushi-grade salmon into cubes approximately 1–1.5 cm wide. Keep the salmon refrigerated until it is ready to be added.

11. Add the Salmon Layer

11

Step 11

Arrange the diced salmon evenly over the cream cheese, covering the entire surface.

12. Add the Sauce

12

Step 12

Drizzle the soy sauce evenly over the salmon. Add the sesame oil when using.

13. Sprinkle with Sesame Seeds

13

Step 13

Finish the salmon layer with white or mixed sesame seeds.

14. Chill Briefly

14

Step 14

Cover the dish and refrigerate for approximately 15–20 minutes so the layers can firm up. Serve on the same day for the best texture and freshness.

15. Serve with Nori

15

Step 15

Cut the nori sheets into small squares. Spoon a portion of the creamy salmon sushi mixture onto each piece of nori and serve immediately.
