1. Add the Gummy Bears to a Bowl
Step 1
Place the gummy bears in a large, deep bowl. Separate any pieces that are stuck together so they can absorb the soda evenly.
Frozen Sprite Gummy Bears are a colourful viral snack made with only two ingredients. The gummy bears soak up the lemon-lime soda, expand and become extra juicy before being frozen. The result is a cold and chewy treat with a lightly icy exterior and an intense fruity centre, perfect for summer days, movie nights and party snack tables.
Place the gummy bears in a large, deep bowl. Separate any pieces that are stuck together so they can absorb the soda evenly.
Slowly pour the Sprite over the gummy bears. Make sure every gummy bear is completely covered by the soda.
Cover the bowl and place it in the refrigerator. Leave the gummy bears to soak for at least 8 hours, or preferably overnight, until they absorb the liquid and increase in size.
Gently stir the gummy bears halfway through the soaking time. This helps the pieces near the surface absorb the soda more evenly.
Remove the swollen gummy bears with a slotted spoon or pour them into a strainer. Allow the excess Sprite to drain for several minutes.
Line a tray with parchment paper. Arrange the gummy bears in a single layer, leaving a little space between them so they do not freeze together.
Transfer the tray to the freezer. Freeze the gummy bears for at least 2–3 hours, or until completely firm.
Remove the gummy bears from the tray and serve them immediately. They have the best icy and chewy texture when eaten straight from the freezer.
