1. Prepare the Sausages
Step 1
Remove the sausages from their packaging and cut each one in half to make 12 equal pieces. Pat the surface dry with paper towels to help the coating stick.
Crispy Ramen-Crusted Sausage Bites are a quick and satisfying snack with a crunchy seasoned noodle coating and a juicy sausage centre. Each sausage piece is dipped in egg, covered in a thick batter and rolled in crushed instant ramen before being fried until golden. Ready in only 25 minutes, they are perfect for parties, movie nights and sharing platters.
Remove the sausages from their packaging and cut each one in half to make 12 equal pieces. Pat the surface dry with paper towels to help the coating stick.
Place the uncooked ramen noodles on a large plate. Crush them into small, irregular pieces using your hands or a kitchen utensil. Add one ramen seasoning packet and mix well.
Crack the eggs into a wide, shallow bowl. Whisk until the yolks and whites are completely combined.
Combine the flour, cornstarch, salt and black pepper in a separate bowl. Gradually add the cold water and whisk until smooth. The batter should be thick enough to cling to the sausages without immediately running off.
Dip each sausage piece into the beaten egg. Transfer it to the batter and turn until the entire surface is evenly covered.
Place the battered sausage in the crushed ramen mixture. Gently press the noodle pieces onto every side until the sausage is completely coated.
Heat the frying oil in a deep saucepan over medium heat until it reaches approximately 170–175°C.
Carefully lower the coated sausage bites into the hot oil. Fry them in small batches for approximately 2–3 minutes, turning when necessary, until the ramen coating is crisp and golden.
Remove the sausage bites with kitchen tongs. Drain them on paper towels or a wire rack to remove excess oil. Serve immediately with ketchup, mayonnaise or hot sauce.
